At the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics Belgium in October 2006 attended by about 250 Alumni it was decided to establish an Alumni Association of the von Karman Institute VKI-AA with the objective to promote exchanges and strengthen links among the Alumni and between Alumni and the von Karman Institute. Thanks to the collaborative and enthusiastic effort of a small group of Alumni from Europe and North America this task has been completed the statutes are published the international board with 30 members from 13 countries has been elected and the organization of the VKI-AA is in place
