The official site of The Kassiopeia Quintet a vocal ensemble focusing on the madrigal repertoire of the 16th and 17th century. The Kassiopeia Quintet performs works of composers ranging from Monteverdi Gesualdo Weelkes and Le Jeune to lesser known contemporaries John Ward PomponioNenna and Peter Philips. Two contemporary European composers Roger Marsh and Maarten Altena have composed new pieces for the ensemble. The quintet has furthered its knowledge by working with Early Music specialists Jill Feldman Jean-Paul Fouchcourt and the worldfamous Hilliard Ensemble in Germany. The Kassiopeia Quintet gave concerts in Holland Portugal and Germany. In 2002-2003 the quintet toured through Holland Concertgebouw Amsterdam and Vredenburg Utrecht and Russia Tsjaikovsky Conservatory and performed on Dutch national radio. In 2004 The Kassiopeia Quintet will present the first of 6 performances of all madrigal books for 5 voices by Gesualdo in the Music Centre Den Bosch The Netherlands.
