The International Ocean Discovery Program U.S. Implementing Organization IODP-USIO operates the scientific riserless drilling vessel JOIDES Resolution. The IODP-USIO is composed of the Consortium of Ocean Leadership Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory's Borehole Research Group and Texas A&M University's College of Geosciences. IODP is an international organization that conducts research into the evolution of Earth's surface oceans climate and deep biosphere. IODP members include the USA Japan the European Consortium for Ocean Research Drilling ECORD People's Republic of China Korea the AustraliaNew Zealand Consortium ANZIC India and Brazil. The program operated as the Integrated Ocean Drilling Program from October 2003 to September 2013
