Ardell Morton is based at her home in Balquhidder on Loch Voil in Perthshire Scotland but travels Scotland to paint and sketch puffins nesting on the cliffs of Mingulay and Staffa pictish stones in the Uists and to Kisimul Castle Castle Bay on the Isle of Barra the high promontory of Dunnottar Castle as well as Duart Castle on the Isle of Mull and the seals near Dunvegan Castle on the Isle of Skye with distant views of the Outer Hebrides.The subjects of recent Scottish paintings by Ardell Morton have included Duart Castle on Isle of Mull Kilchurn Castle on Loch AweUrquhart Castle overlooking Loch Ness Eilean Donan Castle overlooking Loch Duich in Wester Ross Dunvegan Castle on the Isle of Skye Balmoral Castle the Deeside Victorian country residence of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II Morton Castle in Galloway and Dun Sgathiach.
