Point Zero
ActivePoint Zero developed ZEDS, a Zero-Emissions Driving System that combines an electric motor with an innovative magneto-rheologic braking system to fully substitute traditional disk or drum brakes.
What it does
Point Zero is dedicated to creating zero-emissions braking solutions that redefine safety and sustainability in the automotive industry. Our mission is to pioneer state-of-the-art braking systems that are safe, efficient, and contribute to a cleaner and healthier mobility. Our Zero-Emissions Driving System (ZEDS) represents a revolutionary technology that eliminates secondary emissions from braking. ZEDS is a combination of an electric motor with a magnetorheological brake, that can perform all the required traction and braking manoeuvres, substituting current disk or drum brakes. More than being 100% emission free, it stands out with extended lifespan, rapid response times, and advanced controllability enabled by its brake-by-wire architecture. Point Zero’s team was born in Politecnico di Torino, and from 2021 is working on ZEDS with the founding team Giovanni Imberti, Henrique de Carvalho Pinheiro and Massimiliana Carello. Deep technical knowledge, courage to explore out-of-the-box ideas and previous experience in spinning-off from university are among the core strengths of Point Zero’s team.
