What it does

Hotels still see their product as a place to eat & sleep. Consumers are looking for something different - they want experience driven, locally rooted hotels. Wayfarer's vision is to reinvent what a hospitality business CAN and SHOULD be in the future. Japan is the perfect place to do this; it's one of the fastest growing tourism markets in Asia, yet it remains an insular market that is challenging for travelers. Our core business is hotel & serviced apartment operations. Our guests are captive customers that visit and consume our services multiple times a day. We don't need to spend heavily on customer acquisition like online platforms, every hotel booking is an opportunity to deliver more value to our guests and generate more revenue. We curate and partner with local vendors to create an experience menu at each location. We aim to create a community for guests to opt-in for chatting and meeting fellow travelers and vetted locals to plan excursions and activities together.
