Mesodyne

Active

Mesodyne converts heat to electricity in an unprecedented small form factor enabling reliable 24/7 long endurance portable power for remote applications.

What it does

Long endurance portable power demand is skyrocketing. From environmental monitoring sensors that are measuring the effect of climate change in extreme locations for years at a time, to pipeline protection systems that are providing protection against corrosion, to dismounted soldiers and emergency response workers, to small autonomous mobility platforms of the future such as drones and robotics - all these applications need long endurance portable power and the demand is constantly growing. Mesodyne converts heat to electricity in an unprecedented small form factor. The heat source can be fuel, concentrated solar, radioisotope, high temperature waste heat for example. Our current proof of concept prototype generates electricity from burning a small amount of propane at an unprecedented efficiency for this power scale, enabled by our nano engineered photonic crystal emitter.
