HGenium
ActiveAffordable Clean Feedstocks for Clean Hydrocarbons
What it does
HGenium’s thermochemical water splitting technology is an oxidation-reduction process (known as a “redox”) where water is split using inexpensive, readily available, metal oxides and carbonates together with solar thermal energy to produce green hydrogen without any byproducts. The technology is superior to other redox processes, and is the first redox performed at commercially viable temperatures without use of toxic materials. It also offers the ability to integrate CO2 capture to enable production of sustainable synthetic fuels. In contrast to electrolysis, HGenium’s process offers continuous supply at lower cost and uses common industrial processing equipment. Those factors allow for low-cost hydrogen production without relying on optimistic projections of future hardware innovation.
