Privacy layer for web3.

What it does

Company Summary Aztec Network is building a next-generation encrypted Layer 2 for Ethereum. It uses zero-knowledge proofs to combine smart contract functionality with strong on-chain privacy. The platform gives developers the tools to build applications where user data, logic, and transactions stay fully private while remaining verifiable on a public blockchain. The Problem Most blockchains are fully transparent. Every transaction is visible on-chain, exposing user activity and limiting adoption in areas that require confidentiality—like finance, identity, and business logic. This lack of privacy creates risk and restricts innovation. The Solution Aztec Network adds a cryptographic privacy layer to Ethereum. Its protocol lets users interact with decentralized apps while keeping data encrypted. By combining zero-knowledge proofs with programmable smart contracts, Aztec unlocks new kinds of secure, private applications that maintain Ethereum’s trust model. Funding In December 2022, Aztec raised $100M in a Series B led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z Crypto), with support from A Capital, Variant, SV Angel, Fenbushi, and HashKey Capital.
